Books to Read in 2018

Hello dear reader today I have compiled a small list of books you should read in 2018. It is almost February so I guess I am a little late with this list ! The truth is I didn’t get to read as much as I would have liked to in 2017. That is something I aim to remedy this year. Here is my list of books I plan on reading this year and you should as well. These are books that have piqued my interest and maybe they will for you as well. This list will be a combination of books that will be released in 2018 and late 2017.So without any further delay lets get started!

Books You Should Read in 2018

1.) Where The Past Begins: A Writers Memoir Amy Tan (2017)

I love Amy Tan with a passion few will understand or trust! The Joy Luck Club was THEE book that got me into reading when I was in 6th grade. I have read everything she has written since (well except for her children books) and I have loved just about everything. I was stoked when she came back into the writing scene with The Valley of Amazement in 2013 and I’m even more excited for this. She wrote another memoir called The Opposite of Fate in 2003 which I enjoyed so I have high hopes for this one. If you haven’t discovered her writing yet than I highly suggest that you do.

2.) Town in A Maple Madness By B.B Haywood (2017)

I have to admit it…. I really kinda love cozy mysteries! Well sometimes, you  have to be in the right mood for one, but when I am they fill me with such sugary joy. B.B Haywood is in my opinion the best of the cozy mystery genre. I have read all of her books (minus this one) and they are all very well done. Too many of the cozy mystery genre is way too much fluff and filler, but Haywood actually writes characters with depth and a story that engages the reader. So I suggest you check this one out soon if you need some cozy comfort in your life!

3.) The Last Wish By Andrzej Sapkowski (1993)

OK so this books release date is no where near 2018. However, the new English release in the series Season of Storms comes out this year so that is why it is on this list. If you are a gamer or are interested in the fantasy genre there is a good chance you have heard of The Witcher Series.  I have wanted to read it ever since I played The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings . I want to start the series soon so when the new release comes out I will be all caught up. This book is loved by the gaming and fantasy community alike so if that is your niche than I highly suggest it.

4.) Heart Berries By Terese Marie Mailhot (2018)

This ones release date is right around the corner. This story is a coming of age of a young girl growing up on an Indian Reservation in the Pacific Northwest. It is on many publishers lists for the most anticipated books of 2018 and is already selling out due to preorders . This new author seems to have a lot of promise and all of the early reviews are raving about it. This definitely seems like a book you should be reading in 2018.

5.) The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning By Margareta Magnusson (2018)

I actually have this book sitting at home because I knew when I saw it I wanted it in my life! I was a huge fan of The Little Book of Hyyge By Meik Wiking. While this title seems drab it is actually has a nice premise behind it. It is about decluttering your house so when you do pass away, your loved ones won’t have to go throw all your crap. Not to  mention if you just move you will thank your past self excessively (I speak from experience on this ). The minimalist movement really picked up in 2017 and this seems to be just as strong in 2018. If you need to get rid of some junk and clear your space check it out!

That will do it for today’s post. I will absolutely be reading more than this, but these are ones I am currently very passionate about. I hope I gave you some good ideas for some potential reads. Have you read any of these books, how did you feel about them? Whats on your 2018 list? If you want to find easy ways to read more in 2018 please check out my other blog post here. Thank you for reading and I hope you will stop by again soon!
